Hits keep coming for Tiki Barber
[picappgallerysingle id="3025930"]
Former New York Giants RB Tiki Barber is having a rough year. Then again, he’s brought it all on himself. TMZ is reporting that Barber is getting sued by Tricera Revolution Inc is suing Barber. Tricera manufactures indoor cycling studios and Barber and his ex-wife were known to take indoor cycling classes.
Barber supposedly received company stock in exchange for his services of endorsing the company’s products. Tricera now claims that Barber fraudulently passed the couple off as a happily married couple while Tiki was having an affair. The company now wants the stock back.
Barber has seen his life spiral out of control this summer as his extramarital affair was discovered causing him to lose his job with NBC among other things.
Steve Smith-show him the money
[picappgallerysingle id="7338382"]
New York Giants WR the “Other” Steve Smith is expecting a big payday. Smith is playing in the final year of his rookie contract worth 550,000.00. Smith, rightly so wants a new contract, but as the NY Post reports, Smith is adamant but not militant about wanting a new deal.
Smith broke onto the scene last year with 107 receptions for 1220 yards and 7 scores. Smith ranked third in the NFL last season with 38 3rd down receptions. Smith is deserving of a new contract and the Giants would be wise to lock him up.
According to the Post, Smith’s agent Ben Dogra has said, “There’s nothing going on with Steve and contract negotiations at this time.”
Tiki Barber making a comeback?
[picappgallerysingle id="6931413"]
Jeff Pearlman of SI.com wrote a column yesterday posing the question of former New York Giants RB Tiki Barber making a comeback. Pearlman’s column is side splitting funny, and Jeff if you’re reading, the new HD monitors are actually moisture resistant. You’ve got to check this one out.
Tiki certainly has dug quite the hole for himself. He left football while he was still a productive back and left 1 year before he could have gotten a Super Bowl ring. It was all down hill from there. NBC saw fit to put him on television and while he wasn’t quite as bad as Emmitt Smith, he was still painful to watch. As his television career continued to slide into near oblivion Barber should have been paying a bit more attention to his home life instead of mentoring his intern.
So now Tiki is dealing with the screwing he’s getting for the screwing he got.
Chad Jones in NYC
The New York Giants arranged a flight from New Orleans to New York for S Chad Jones yesterday. The NY Post reports that Jones might require plastic surgery as well as additional orthopedic procedures.
A Giants spokesman told the media, “Chad has received outstanding medical care from the doctors and nurses in New Orleans since the accident. They’ve shown great compassion. After consulting with our doctors, Chad’s doctors at LSU and his family felt like this move to New York was the next logical step in his care and recovery”.
Giants waive Davis
The New York Giants yesterday waived KR/WR Chris Davis. Davis was claimed off waivers last week but failed his physical with the team. Davis was thought to be a possible replacement for Domenik Hixon who suffered a season ending ACL injury.
Davis was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans and was waived last week by the Cincinnati Bengals before the Giants plucked him off waivers.
Giants Jones possible for 2011?
New York Giants draft selection Chad Jones underwent 8 hours of surgery Friday and it early reports are that Jones might be cleared to play football in 2011. That’s great news as reports on Friday stated that Jones might be in a critical situation. However, someone in Jones family or Jones himself should tell his agent Rocky Arceneaux to shut the hell up.
Arceneaux has told members of the media that Jones might opt to play baseball instead of football due to the severity of his injury. Jone’s agent should be telling members of the media that he’s in my prayers, our thoughts, my thoughts are with Chad and his family, not laying out possible baseball plans in regards to a person who quite possibly could have lost a limb not 72 hours ago.
Giants’ Jones listed in Critical Condition
The New York Giants 2010 draft pick has been reported to have been involved in a serious car accident. The third round selection had already inked a contract worth over 2 million dollars in base salary. WWL-TV has reported that Jones lost control of his SUV and crashed into a streetcar pole.
WWL reported that Jones had suffered a fractured leg and arteries and nerves were exposed. Jone’s agent asked for prayers for Chad Jones.
Barber Busted?
The good times just keep on rolling for former New York Giants RB Tiki Barber. Barber, who left his wife while she was pregnant with twins for a much younger woman, is now in divorce court with his ex.
[picappgallerysingle id="7856562"]
Barber now claims that his ex-wife wants 150,000.00 a month in alimony and he just doesn’t have it. According to the New York Post, a close friend of Barber claims, “Ginny wants 150,000 per month from him in alimony. In due time, if Tiki were dumb enough to give her that amount, he’d be broke.”
I’m not quite sure what Tiki’s doing now for work as he was released from the Today show. He should never have been hired for the Today show, he was a horrible reporter. The Post reported that Barber’s gig was paying him 300,000 a year.
Maybe Tiki could call Tiger for some legal advice. If you want to play Tiki, you’ve gotta pay.
