The wildly unappreciated and sometimes much maligned offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie of the New York Giants has finally been getting some praise.

Pro Football Focus recently wrote an article ranking him the NFL’s best right tackle in 2010, and only behind Andrew Whitworth and Jake Long in tackles in general. (more…)

New York Giants Hall of Famer and Legend DE Andy Robustelli Dies Tuesday at Age 85

According to the Stamford Advocate former New York Giants defensive end and Hall of Famer Andy Robustelli has died at age 85 today. Robustelli played with the Giants from 1956-1964 and the Rams prior to that from 1951-1955.

I do not want to do his career a disservice by leaving something out, and what better way to inform fans of his impact on the game than to take the biography excerpt directly from the NFL Hall of Fame website. (more…)

Assuming there is an NFL season, I have a strong inclination that New York Giants young talented wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will make the Pro Bowl in 2011.

He had a breakout year in 2010 and seemed poised to make the Pro Bowl roster before getting injured and missing three games. At the half way point, Nicks had nine touchdowns in his first eight games, which was good enough to tie him for first place with Antonio Gates.

He led the NFL in that category at the time. (more…)

NFC East Blogger Dan Graziano: New York Giants Have Best Wide Receivers In Division

May 28, 2011

According to ESPN’s NFC East Blogger Dan Graziano, the New York Giants have the best wide receiving corps in the division. It is definitely a close race and I’d argue that the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys have three of the top corps in the entire NFL.

He ranks them as follows: Giants, Cowboys, and then Eagles. (more…)

Giants wide receiver Steve Smith joined the ESPN New York Podcast yesterday with “Ruocco and Lundberg” and talked about how his rehab is going, the lockout, and what his feelings are about coming back to the Giants this season since his contract is up.

He claims his rehab is going very well, but there have been several reports that he may have to start the season on the physically unable to perform list, which would cause him to miss the first six games of the season. (more…)

Former New York Giants RB Tiki Barber Comes Out of Hiding to Make Ridiculous Comment

When Amani Toomer—the Giants franchise leader in all major receiving categories—compared Roger Goodell to a Gestapo, it made headlines for a while and then went away with a sincere apology from Toomer.

Tiki Barber’s comments may have topped what Toomer said in terms of an insensitive comment regarding the Nazi regime, and it will take more than an apology to get past this one. (more…)

New York Giants Eli Manning: Plaxico Burress Has Served His Time

Yet another New York Giants player is coming to the defense of Plaxico Burress, and this time it is someone we’ve been waiting to hear from on the subject.

Franchise QB Eli Manning believes Burress has paid his debt to society and should be welcomed back in to the league.

“Obviously he’s served his time, plus some, I’m excited that he’s getting out,” Manning said. “And if the Giants or another team give him a shot, I’ll look forward to getting him back into football.”

Though not said explicitly, it seems as if Manning wouldn’t mind bringing back the big target. I can’t count the number of times Manning sent passes flailing over Burress’ head and he still managed to come down with the ball.

He’s not the only one who wants Plaxico back. Justin Tuck, Brandon Jacobs, and Osi Umenyiora have all spoken out in an effort to bring him back.

David Diehl recently made comments that suggests Burress should look to get a fresh start. I agree because I don’t know that all the fans would welcome him back. What he did to the 2008 team is unforgivable.

That said, if he looks good at his workout in Florida, which he is putting on for those teams interested in him, it may be hard for the Giants to pass up the opportunity to bring him back.

New York Giants CB Terrell Thomas Welcomes Prince Amukamara Selection

The corner back position has been a breeding ground for divas and guys that tend to put themselves ahead of the team. It’s not as much as wide receivers, but corners always seem to be at the forefront of guys who will hold out for better contracts and things of that nature.

However, when the Giants drafted Prince Amukamara with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2011 draft, Terrell Thomas had absolutely no issues with it, according to ESPNNewYork.com’s Ohm Youngmisuk. (more…)
